About

Florida rock royalty celebrating a two-decade-long reign of the genre

Blending a feverish pop-punk with metalcore, A Day to Remember have long stood as boundary-pushing figureheads within the modern rock scene.

Formed by a ragtag group of musicians operating in the Ocala, Florida local scene back in 2003, A Day To Remember have come a long way since they first piled into a tour bus as naïve, excitable teens. Breaking onto the radar of heavy music lovers worldwide with their 2007 album For Those Who Have Heart – featuring a scream-laden cover of Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Since U Been Gone’ – they’ve risen from MySpace-era scene sweethearts to alt rock titans.

Encouraging fans of furiously fast hardcore to engage in joyous singalongs, their crossover appeal was solidified on 2009’s Homesick. Produced by New Found Glory’s Chad Gilbert, the band’s third full-length effort stretched their sound to both its poppiest and heaviest extremes. Casting aside the metal genre’s signature broodiness in favour of something a little brighter, from the a cappella intro of pit-starting opener ‘The Downfall Of Us All’ through to the heart-warmingly infectious emo-pop ballad ‘If It Means A Lot To You’, few records capture the dualities of twenty-something teen angst quite so vividly.

Evolving and maturing with every step of their journey, 2010’s darker-tinged What Separates Me From You saw the Floridians truly settle into their sound, topping the UK Rock Chart in the process. Confronting the doubt they had faced from their peers and confidently coming into their own, ‘Sticks & Bricks’ and ‘2nd Sucks’ feel utterly defiant, whilst the huge choruses of ‘All I Want’ – released alongside a star-studded music video – swiftly became a highlight of the band’s live show.

Their identity solidified further on 2015’s self-released Common Courtesy and 2016’s highly acclaimed Bad Vibrations, as A Day To Remember’s sound has grown – so has the size of the venues they play. Celebrated for their high-energy, no-nonsense live show, frontman Jeremy McKinnon has become one of the scene’s most highly respected vocalists, even founding the band’s own festival – Self Help – in 2014.

2021’s You’re Welcome marked A Day To Remember’s brightest statement to date. Leaning further into the pop stylings that have long shaded their sound and delivering a much-needed dose of happiness to the scene, sees fresh splashes of EDM and rap.

Standing at the precipice of a new era following the release of explosive comeback single ‘Feedback’ in 2024, A Day To Remember will return to the UK for two nights at O2 Academy Brixton in 2025.
