Since forming in 2013, Blossoms have enjoyed widespread success and acclaim for their synth-forward blend of Britpop and indie rock. The Stockport fivesome is comprised of frontman Tom Ogden with Charlie Salt on bass, Josh Dewhurst on guitar, Joe Donovan on drums and Myles Kellock on keyboards.
In 2014, they released their first single, You Pulled a Gun on Me, and went on to play The Great Escape and Reading & Leeds that summer. Blossoms released the track Charlemagne in 2015, which broke into the top 100 of the UK singles chart.
Their 2016 eponymous debut topped the album charts for two consecutive weeks and went on to earn the band BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominations, while 2018’s Cool Like You charted at No.4 on the UK albums chart, spawning the anthemic singles I Can’t Stand It, There’s a Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls) and How Long Will This Last?
The following two years saw Blossoms tour sold-out venues and packed festival stages across the UK and Europe. They played their biggest gig to date – a triumphant hometown show at Stockport County’s Edgeley Park – in summer 2019.
Blossoms released their third album, Foolish Loving Spaces, in January 2020. Produced in Liverpool and topping the UK albums chart, it celebrates love in all of its many forms and features the hits Your Girlfriend and If You Think This Is Real Life.
Their double album, In Isolation / Live From The Plaza Theatre, Stockport, arrived in October 2020 featuring original music created during lockdown along with a recording from the launch show for Foolish Loving Spaces early in the year. Blossoms played a livestream from London’s O2 Academy Brixton on 3 December 2020 to support the new material.
The band confirmed an appearance at the 2021 edition of TRNSMT Festival. On 4 March 2021, Blossoms also announced rescheduled dates for their extensive UK tour in late August and September 2021.
In 2022, Blossoms confirmed they would be embarking on an extensive tour in the UK and Ireland. It comes after the band played successful headline sets at Y Not? and Truck festivals, and a set at Glastonbury.
In 2023, Blossoms announced their return to Manchester on August bank holiday weekend 2024, playing an all-day outdoor concert at Wythenshawe Park. The show will have support from Inhaler and Shed Seven and will mark the biggest headline show of the bands career.
Blossoms headline UK tour for October and November in 2024, includes shows in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Leeds and Glasgow. The band will be supported by Red Rum Club for all dates except Liverpool, Belfast and Dublin and Keyside for Liverpool only.
