TK Maxx Presents Bedford Summer Sessions

Bedford park is a stunning grade two listed Victorian park, situated within walking distance of the centre of the county town of Bedford and has been a premier destination for live music fans for many years, hosting the renowned Bedford Park Concerts. These events have featured a host of celebrated artists, including George Ezra, Sting, Tom Grennan, Billy Ocean, and UB40, drawing hundreds of thousands of attendees.

In 2024, the park introduced TK Maxx presents Bedford Summer Sessions, marking a new era for live music at the venue. This inaugural series saw headlining performances from Avril Lavigne, Jess Glynne, Tom Jones, Pete Tong Ibiza Classics, James, and Nile Rodgers & CHIC.

Bedford Park continues to serve as a cultural and recreational landmark. Its blend of natural beauty and top-tier entertainment makes it a prime location for memorable experiences, whether you’re attending a concert or simply enjoying a day out in the park. The event was a tremendous success, attracting large crowds and solidifying Bedford Park's status as a key location for premier live music events.

Pick up and drop of point 

Please use De Parys Avenue which is opposite the main entrance to the park. This is for all pick up/ drop offs, including taxis, parents, access. 

Bedford Railway Station is approximately a three-minute taxi drive and a 25-minute walk away from the venue.

How can I book accessible tickets for TK Maxx Presents Bedford Summer Sessions?

We want TK Maxx Presents Bedford Summer Session to be an event accessible for all.

To ensure we have the correct level of facilities we ask customers to purchase the correct type of accessible ticket on Ticketmaster.

Essential Companion Tickets

There is an option to select a companion ticket when you are purchasing an accessible ticket. Once you have selected a companion ticket, there will be an approval process. For the approval process, you will be contacted to provide supporting documentation for validation of your request.

Accessible Documentation

To ensure fans are receiving the correct accommodations and that Free Essential Companion tickets are going to eligible fans, you'll have three weeks to submit proof of eligibility after requesting accessible tickets. Your order may be cancelled if no supporting document is provided.

Below is a list of documents we may accept when considering allocating a complimentary ticket:

  • PIP (Personal Independence Payment)
  • DLA
  • Letter from a medical professional, including a doctor’s note or a letter from an occupation therapist
  • Carer's allowance
  • A Nimbus Access Card with the +1 symbol. Visit the Access Card page for more information.
  • Confirmation in writing from Social Services that the individual is included on their Deaf Register, or a letter or report from an aural specialist confirming that hearing loss has been recorded at 70 - 95 dBHL or worse
  • War Pensions Mobility allowance
  • Blind or partially sighted registration certificate (BD8 or CVI certificate)
  • A personal letter from the GP, community nurse or social worker
  • Benefit award letters
  • Copy of a blue badge (we would need to see both sides)

What if I need a companion ticket in the general admission or VIP area?

If you require a companion ticket in the general admission or VIP area. Please purchase one general admission/VIP  ticket and contact Ticketmaster’s access team here to request - [email protected].  

They will issue you a companion ticket if you have the correct accessible documentation. You can find out more on accessible documentation here.

Please note – if there is a hospitality package of the VIP ticket, there may be a charge for your companion.

 

What is a wheelchair ticket?

The ‘wheelchair’ ticket is for customers who are attending in a wheelchair or mobility scooter. This ticket allows entry onto the accessible viewing platform which is a raised platform with view of the stage. 

The accessible viewing platform has a limited capacity and is strictly for accessible customers plus their companions.

The viewing platform have ramped access, wheelchair accessible toilets and charging points and a member of staff is located on each platform to offer any help that may be needed.

 

What is an ambulant ticket? 

An ambulant ticket is for customers who have an access requirement that require them to have access to a chair and/or quieter area from the crowd to make their experience more comfortable.

Ambulant ticket holders can access the accessible viewing area where chairs are provided.

Customers who have purchased an ambulant ticket are also entitled to a companion ticket. They will be contacted to provide accessible documentation for a companion ticket.

 

What is a Deaf/Hard of Hearing ticket?

Deaf/Hard of Hearing ticket holders can access the general admission area, with the BSL interpreter positioned on the side of the stage. Further details will be included in the access pack.

If you need alternative accessible facilities, such as platform access or accessible toilets, please get in touch with us, and we’ll be happy to look into this and discuss further. [Please note – the platform may be at capacity].

We are pleased to offer a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter for all TK Maxx Presents Derby Summer Sessions 2025 concerts.

If you require a BSL interpreter, please purchase a Deaf/Hard of Hearing ticket via Ticketmaster.

Deaf/Hard of Hearing ticket holders can access the general admission area, with the BSL interpreter positioned on the side of the stage. Further details will be included in the access pack.

Accessible Facilities

TK Maxx Presents Bedford Summer Sessions has various accessible facilities in place. We have raised platform, hearing loops, BSL, lowered bars, large prints, Accessible toilets and Accessible changing facilities. You can find out more on our accessible facilitieshere

  

I don’t need a wheelchair or ambulant ticket; I just need to access the accessible facilities – what do I do?

If you do not need a wheelchair or ambulant ticket but have accessible requirements that would benefit from the use of the accessible facilities, such as the toilets and entrance – please contact our access team here who can explain further.

  

Accessible Car Park

Accessible parking is available at The Pilgrim Centre, Brickhill Drive, Bedford - MK41 7PZ.

This is a short walk to the festival site. It is approximately 200m to the entry gate and 200m to the accessible area.

You can book tickets in due course. You will be required to show a blue badge on arrival.

The pickup and drop off point is at De Parys Avenue which is opposite the main entrance to the park.

This is for all pick up/ drop offs, including taxis, parents, access.

It is approximately 500m from the drop-off point to the entrance.

 

Strobe lighting and special effects

Smoke machines, strobe lights, fireworks and other effects may be in use at this event. Anyone affected by these should bear this in mind. Please contact us here for further information.

 

Assistant Dogs

Assistant Dogs are permitted on site. If you are bringing a registered assistant dog, please do let us know in the accessible requirements form that is emailed to you by Ticket master after purchasing accessible tickets. Alternatively, please contact us here.

 

Temporary Impairments

Please note that TK Maxx Presents Bedford Summer Sessions accessible facilities cannot cater for people with temporary impairments such as broken bones, healing injuries and those who are pregnant.

FAQS

General Admission, The Terraced Garden and Accessible gates will open at 5pm.

Apart from Proms in the Park (Sunday 6 July) where gates open at 4pm.

Entertainment is due to finish at around 11pm. We would suggest arriving early to soak up the atmosphere.

Children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 and over who has their own ticket.

Children aged 2 and under can attend for free and don’t require a ticket.

All other children must have a full price ticket to enter the festival for all shows apart from Proms in the Park, where child tickets are available at a reduced rate but must be purchased along with a full priced adult ticket.

Prams are not permitted into Bedford Summer Sessions.

Absolutely! Concerts are only ever cancelled due to the weather if the conditions become dangerous. However, you cannot bring an umbrella, so please dress appropriately. The show will continue to go ahead if it rains and there will be no refunds offered should you choose to leave due to weather. The show will only be cancelled or stopped if the weather becomes dangerous.

Although you are unable to bring food and drink into the venue, we're certain you won't go hungry with a wide array of food and drink stalls inside the venue offering some of the most delicious cuisines. We have everyone's favourites on our roster and our concession stalls will be offering refreshments throughout the night.

1 x sealed water bottle is permitted per person max 500ml

1 x empty reusable water bottle is permitted.

There will be free water re-fill stations at the venue.

If you have a medical condition, then a doctor’s note will permit diet-specific food and drink only.

Please note - for the proms in the park evening, food and drink are permitted as part of the picnic style concert as usual.

Yes, all food concessions and bars are cashless. Please bring alternative payment options. 

Once you leave the venue you will not be allowed back in.

The Terrace Garden VIP is our premium option which includes access to the main concert arena & the below:

  • Fast track entry into the arena.
  • Access to the exclusive garden zone & raised decked viewing platform for premium views of the stage.
  • Club style furniture and tables set on the decked viewing platform_._
  • A welcome drink on arrival of wine, beer or soft drink.
  • Delicious bowl food included.
  • Private garden bar.
  • Souvenir VIP event lanyard.
  • Premium toilet facilities.

One foldable chair is permitted per person in general admission within the designated areas towards the rear of the arena. Chairs are not permitted within the VIP Terrace Garden however there will be picnic benches outside & club style furniture on the VIP decked viewing platform.

Please note - chairs are permitted in the whole festival area for the Proms in the Park evening as usual.

Proms in the park takes place on Sunday 6 July 2025.

This is a full picnic style concert, which means you can bring in all your own food & drink, chairs and tables.

Gates will open at 4:30pm and entertainment is due to finish at around 10:30pm.

Children tickets are available for Proms in the Park but must be purchased with a full priced adult ticket.

    Pete Tong on Friday was epic... just such a brilliant sound and atmosphere and then Nile Rogers on Sunday rounded off the weekend nicely! Really well organised concerts, thank you Bedford Summer Sessions.... already looking forward to the 2025 gigs...
